I recently finished another Japanese crime drama, and it’s really good. Ooohohohoho.
When it comes to drama that are easy and fast to binge-watch, Japanese Dramas are the best. They never fail to entertain me with their plot, characters, and interesting twists & turns in their series. <3 <3

Synopsis: Kinshiro Toyama (Hiroshi Tamaki) is the new chief at Kitamachi police station. He is enthusiastic to solve cases which interests him. He bickers over pretty much everything with veteran detective Yozo Minami (Masahiro Takashima). Minori Aikawa (Miori Takimoto) is a rookie detective who wants to become a veteran detective.

Oooohohohooh.
It’s been awhile since I watched a Hiroshi Tamaki series. I always loved his portrayal as Chiaki Shinichi in the live-action adaptation of Nodame Cantabile, he was so handsome and very attractive. I always wanted to watch more of his dramas, but failed to do so (I always forget, lel). That is why this series was a must watch. Lol. I can’t miss any more of his series. XD
The series was about Kinshiro Toyama, a young man and an elite bureaucrat, becoming the new chief of the police station, and how he adjusts and be accepted by his subordinates. On the surface, the premise is kinda basic and common in a japanese drama series. What made this series stand out over the rest were the subplots, the stories and how they were told. The subplots were really interesting and engaging. Even I couldn’t predict what was going to happen next, and I really really like that. When the main and over-arching plot starts, it doesn’t feel out of place and it connects well to the subplots. It was done well.
The characters were really interesting and likable. Even though they were acting too cliche, it was still enjoyable.
The main character, Kinshiro, was really likable. Like bruh, he is too handsome for his own good (oh my…Tamaki looks good in this hairstyle, damn). I really like his character. His devotion to serve the people in the community as a policeman was really admirable. I think his only fault was that he was too unrealistic. He is too perfect, I guess, to be real. There were not much character growth in him, except during the last episodes of the series. He was the source of change in the series, so there were not much development on his part. Cuz of this, he became too unreal.
Yozo Minami was soooo animated, I love it. One of the things I love about japanese dramas was the incorporation of ‘animated’ stuff in their series. The way Minami acted were usually what we see in animes. It’s like he brought an anime character to life. He was really fun to watch. He was also dynamic and had the most growth out of all the characters. I so love him.
Minori Aikawa was your typical heroine in a japanese crime drama. At least, she was less cringy and annoying. I liked how she was not as stupid as I thought she would be. She immediately gets and understand the stuff the main characters do. I also liked the fact that she’s very proactive and say the important stuff. Her character was written well.
Oooohohohoh. I also like the subtle hints of romance between Minori & Kinshiro. Even though the latter seems to be oblivious, its kinda clear that Minori was starting to have romantic feelings for the new chief. Though she keeps on denying it. Lol.
Overall, the series was really good. Like I said at the top, this series can be binge-watched easily. It’s not hard to watch and its every engaging. I recommend this to everyone who likes crime series, jdrama fans, asian drama fanatics, and peepz who have nothing to do. Lol. You won’t regret this.
