Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? Episode 4

S.A.W. Winter 2021: Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? Episode 4

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Yo! Sirius here!

I was able to check out the 4th episode of the spidey anime, Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka?

It’s been awhile since I had seen this anime and damn, I miss this isekai spidey.

In the last episode, we saw Kumoko meeting a lot of deadly and powerful monsters in the cave. Barely escaping, Kumoko was able to dodge the huge CGI dragon. I personally don’t like the look of the dragon as it’s the ugliest of all the monsters I had seen in this anime. Damn.

Around this time, Kumoko had a lot of dialogues and I was slightly bored with it. Though, it was a bit of fun to see how she can escape and hide successfully against high-level monsters. That takes a lot of skills. Lol.

Because the cave was full of monsters, there’s also a lot of dead ones which, of course, Kumoko took advantage of. She eats when she can and attacks those monsters she thinks she can handle. She was able to level up steadily. Good for her.

However, what woke me up from boredom was when she accidentally ate a “worm”, I guess, that must have been really bad cuz she almost died. Lol. It was a wake-up call for her (and me). She was, at least, was able to get a tolerance on that monster, the worms still looked really nasty. It was funny to see her struggle to eat it as she doesn’t want to “waste food.”

The episode then picked up the pace as new monsters were introduced. Kumoko, again, was able to hide and escape against them. This time, I was fearing for her life too. Lol. When did I get attached to a mere spider?!?!

Anyway, I was getting used to her escaping when she randomly met a crazy….monkey? This monster was unusually crazy and won’t stop attacking Kumoko. After a lot of struggle, Kumoko was able to apprehend the crazy monkey, but before it died, it randomly screamed which shocked me a lot.

Kumoko devoured the monkey which helped her level up again.

However, it turned out that the scream the monster made a while ago was significant as it alerted all of the crazy monkeys in the cave. The crazy monkeys then charged Kumoko, and does everything to kill her.

It is during this time when it becomes intense.

The monkeys were hella crazy alright. Not only that, but they also adapt quickly. Every time Kumoko has the upper hand, the crazy monkeys adapt and catch up, which results in me, at the edge of the seat, cheering the hell out of Kumoko to escape this new predicament she’s in.

Seeing Kumoko try and survive was very remarkable to look at. It made me look back to the previous episodes, and damn, she’s all grown up. Hahahahha.

The moment she seemed to taste victory, one of the new monsters that were introduced a while ago turned out to be the evolved version of the crazy monkeys. And bruh, they were crazier and more violent. Again, I was on the edge of my seat watching Kumoko surviving against them.

As the episode goes on, my faith in Kumoko’s survival was faltering, the evolved crazy monkeys were stronger than I expected and I dunno if Kumoko could still survive.

But she’s the main character and this is just the 4th episode, so….yeah she’ll survive.

I guess, with her constant fights against high-level monsters, she continues to level up more and more. This helped her a lot during the fights. The moment she on the verge of death, unsurprisingly, she levels up.

Through this, she was able to defeat the monsters. After a long fight, Kumoko was able to taste solitude again and rest.

She’s now in level 10. Damn. All her hard work is clearly paid off.

She continues to explore the cave and was able to find a way. She assumed it to be her escape back to the upper level in the cave, but it turns out to be not. Lol.

Overall, this episode was quite fun and thrilling to watch.

Yes, there were parts in the first half that was slow and boring. It was mostly info dump and a lot of dialogues from Kumoko. But the episode eventually picked up the pace and it became very enjoyable from then on.

This definitely made me look forward for the next episode.

I can’t wait.
