Batman Ninja Movie Review
If I were to choose between Marvel and DC, I would choose the latter in a heartbeat. Why? Well, I grew up watching it, the animated shows of the franchise. I think I am not the only one with this stance, they were awesome you know. From the animated movies to series, they were very enjoyable to watch.
Recently, Netflix released an interesting animated movie from the DC franchise. As a fan of the animated shows of the franchise, I was really curious of this one. Its story is…quite unique and very intriguing. So I checked it out.
And definitely,…it was different.
Not what I expected.
Synopsis: Batman, along with a number of his allies and adversaries, finds himself transplanted from modern Gotham City to feudal Japan. (IMDb)
Damn, I didn’t expect I would reached the day that the famous Batman would become a legit Japanese Samurai. Lol. It definitely caught me off guard.
For this netflix movie, I didn’t expect much as the premise itself seemed absurd and the animation is not my cup of tea. Still, I enjoyed watching this one. For your information, I watched this on English dub and not on Japanese, as I am used to watched DC shows that way. I mean, I don’t think I could handle hearing Batman characters like Joker in Japanese. Yeah, it would have been interesting, but I don’t think I would like it.
The story. Hhhhmmm…
Definitely within the range of my expectation. The story was okay, but I did feel like its been rushed. If this was part of a legit Batman series, I think this plot would be told in a couple of episodes and not just one special, its too short. The characters were transported into another timeline, they need time to understand and get used to everything, especially Batman. It would have been nice if we were shown everything that happened to the other characters transported and not just listen to the hearsay. That would make the story alot more interesting and yeah, it would need a longer time. Oh well, what’s done is done.
For the animation, again, I am not a fan. I am not used to seeing Batman in this aesthetic. It’s a bit refreshing, but it takes time to get use to it. The character designs looked okay. I am definitely shocked to see Damien in that look. Very weird. The fight scenes were not that impressive too.
Overall, the movie is not that impressive. I did enjoy watching it, but its not my cup of tea. This is definitely one of my least adored DC show to date. Lel.
I would still recommend this to anyone who are into DC or knows who Batman is. You guys might still enjoy and like this one.
That is all for now.
Thanks for reading.
