After watching the supposed sequel of this movie first, I immediately watched this one. I know, I’m so bad. I ruined the experience. But guess what, I can’t turn back the time you know. What’s done is done.
Here’s my thoughts:
ZUTTO MAE KARA SUKI DESHITA.: KOKUHAKU JIKKOU IINKAI
Zutto Mae Kara Suki deshita.: Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai follows Natsuki as she dreams of one day ending her practices and genuinely confessing to Yuu. Meanwhile, close friends also find themselves entangled in their own webs of unrequited love and unspoken affections. (MAL)
Experiencing romance in highschool is so sweet, fluffy, bliss and innocent. Why didn’t I ever experience that? LOL.
This anime movie was the prequel to the Suki ni Naru Sono Shunkan wo.: Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai, an anime movie I reviewed days ago (check it out!!). In this movie, it focuses more on the seniors students of the school and their blooming romances. It’s very sweet, fluffy, and at the same time, you would feel bad to the heartbroken characters. There’s always pain when it comes to love, after all, it goes side by side. Seeing them going through this pure love phase is so cute and innocent. It made me jealous, LOL.
Compared to the sequel movie that focused more on the siblings of the main characters, this movie involves 3 couples. Each of them were really cute, but my fav couple would be Akari & Souta couple. Out of the 3, they got the least amount of screentime but still their scenes were really sweet. I want more of them. I want to know how their romance would develop. To be honest, their possible love story would be much better than the usual childhood friends turned lovers type of story but I digress. I won’t talk much about Haruki & Miou’s romance cuz I know they got a mini-series, so let’s proceed to the main couple. I find the main couple’s love story a bit meh, I mean, its too common. I think the only new thing or the only thing I like from their relationship would be that Yuu’s personality. He looks like a typical cold character, but there’s more to him. I could really imagine someone in real life who acts like him, he’s that realistic. Natsuki, on the other hand, is a bit too generic. Her personality is too common, I had seen too much of it already. At least, some of their moments are darn cute though.
The art and animation is quite similar to the sequel so I don’t have much to say other than the fact that everyone’s darn gorgeous. That’s all.
Oh! Oh! Oh! I also want to talk about the moment when Honeywork’s was actually mentioned in the movie. In a way, it was meta and really cool. Didn’t expect they would add it in the movie. It would have been nice if this was also added in the sequel, but I didn’t noticed it. Too bad.
Overall, the anime movie is definitely a good watch. The fluffiness and the overwhelming innocence of the characters might not be something new, but its still nice to watch. This movie was released during the time when romance animes kinda rare to see, so it was a nice change of pace.
I definitely recommend this to peepz who likes school romance animes. This is a movie so this is easy to watch. If you haven’t seen the sequel, then see this one first then the sequel. Don’t follow me as an example. Its a bad idea. Lol.
Thats is all.
Thanks for reading!!
