Synopsis: The second cour of Shokugeki no Souma season 3. (MAL)

This 2nd cour of the 3rd season covered quite the heavy and the exciting parts that I like about Shokugeki no Souma. The progression of the story was actually better compared to the 1st cour. The pacing  was abit inconsistent, still, I don’t mind. It was going really well alll through out the series, but at the last few episodes, it was slow. With the start of the most anticipated arc of the series, they don’t want to rush it much, so they took time and stretch it like its the last thing they could do. LOL.

The characters are still awesome. I’m learning to like the blonde Aldini, didn’t expect he’d have an important part in this 2nd cour. Megumi is still Megumi. She became are really reliable chef. So happy for her. Souma continues to amaze me with his cooking skills. I also liked the fact that continues to persevere and not give up. Even though he is kinda unrealistic and too anime, it’s fun to watch him win against the enemy with his crazy ideas.

Now, for Erina. You have no idea how happy I am hearing the original voice of Erina again. I missed it so much. Back to the topic. Erina’s growth all through out this 3rd season had been tremendous. She did everything she could just to be free from her father and to save her friends. Seeing her go outside of her comfort zone and still produce amazing dishes, just shows her prowess in cooking. I’m so proud of her.

Dunno if I mentioned this before, but I am a Souma x Erina shipper so this season was heaven to me. Their interactions were really good and I can’t stop smiling watch them. I also liked the fact that the series is ‘not really’ obvious in shipping them. LOL. Megumi and blondie looks good together too. Oooohohohohoho.

The other characters didn’t disappoint. Even though the other students were not really highlighted much, they still standout well whenever they are shown on screen. I also like the fact that the adults now intervened and is helping the lead characters. They definitely needed it and understand WTF happened to Erina’s daddy. Ah! And also Souma’s dad, too. Knowing their backstories defintiely shed light and answers to some of the questions I had in my mind since the 1st cour.

Now for the art & animation. The food the characters presented were definitely eye-catchy and continues to make me hungry. It continues to appeal me and encourages me to cook them in the future. What made me disappointed with the art & animation this 2nd cour would be the stiffness and low quality overall compared to its previous seasons. The first cour was also like this, that’s why I was expecting it to be better this time, but it seems there wasn’t much changes. Sigh.
Still, this 2nd cour was overall enjoyable to watch and it definitely satisfied my need for foodgasms. Can’t wait for the next season. Ooohohohohoho

Thanks for reading!!
