Synopsis: This 3rd season continues the story of Yukihira Soma at Japan’s premiere culinary school. This time around he’s aiming for a spot in “The Elite Ten”. These are the ten best students in the school who primarily decide which direction the school’s curriculum will take. However, dark days are approaching as a former student returns and maneuvers into a position of power to usher in a new, bleaker direction for the school. At its darkest hour many students turn to Yukihira Soma to turn the tide. (ANN)
One of my most anticipated animes this year. After watching the 2nd season few months ago, I knew this new season would be exciting, and bruh, it didn’t disappoint!
This season pretty much renewed my love for this series. It’s so good and really intense. Every week, every episode was a blast and full of feels. Uuuwwwwaaaaa, I love this show.
The anime kinda started weirdly. They skipped quite a number of scenes, like the meeting of the Elite Ten. It would have been nice if it was animated fully and shown to us, anime-only fans, but yeah they skip it and proceed to the hyped ‘school festival’ arc. Its not only this opening scene, but there were alot of instances that the pacing was either too fast or too slow. They are quite fast when its about the stories, but when it comes to food battles, it takes it sweet time. I have no problems with the pacing, rather, it made me realize that this series was made solely to promote the manga. Hence, I should check out the manga soon and binge-read it.
The characters are still awesome as ever. Souma was still cool and awesome as ever. Though I feel bad for the other characters, they seldomly shown in the series, as the anime focuses more on Erina, and most of the better chefs in the series. Erina’s backstory is tragic but its too over-exaggerated in the anime. Her father though, damn, he is one hell of a weirdo. Doing all of this stuff cuz of Souma’s dad? Phew, notice me senpai all the way!
The animation & music were still as good as the previous seasons. I like how consistent they are. JC Staff did really well in adapting this series.
Overall, this anime is still a must watch. It was better than the previous seasons and the cliffhanger at the end of the series was so damn….uuuuggggggghhhhhhh!!! (in a good way)
I can’t wait for the next season.
Thanks for reading.
