My Thoughts:

Shakunetsu no Takkyyuu Musume took me by surprise. I didn’t expect I would enjoy watching this one after I had seen the amazing ‘Pingpong The Animation’. Due to my intense work schedule, I wasn’t able to binge-watch this anime, still I enjoyed the hell out of it. Each episode got me worked up, I can’t control my smile and excitement, its really fun.

The anime series is about middle school girls getting ‘doki-doki’ while playing pingpong. Hhhhmmmm…I think I summed that up right. LOL. The story is quite simple, but its enough. The characters made the anime really good, not the simple story. I do have problems with the pacing. Its a bit slow. There are parts in the anime that could be skip or was given shorter time. I could even consider them a filler. Weird, right? Having alot fillers within a 12- episode anime. If only they added more pingpong fights, it would have been much better.

I am a bit surprised when I learnt that the setting would be middle school. Usually, these type of animes happen in a high school setting, well, most of the animes I saw are in high school so yeah, its a bit surprising.

Like I said above, the characters made the anime fun and enjoyable to watch. Each lead characters have their own quirks and unique personalities that makes you smile. Even the antagonists were really cute and have unique personalities. All of them are really likeable. I really like the fact that this series is so lighthearted, but also tries to handle the drama as well. Its not so heavy, but in a way, you could relate to some of their struggles.

The art & animation of the series amazed me. I didn’t expect this anime would give me thrills and amazing animation during their pingpong fights. Its so fluid and just right. Though they do go overboard on some scenes, at least it adds more flavor and fun to the series. The art is quite generic and really moe. Though I do what to point out that every single character in this series seems to be blushing. Not that I hate it or anything, its weird at first but I got used to it later on. It also adds more meaning to what this series is all about, girls going ‘doki-doki’ cuz of pingpong. Another thing, even though this anime has no ‘ecchi’ tag, this series had some cute fanservice here and there. We get Munemune senpai’s bouncing melons, and sweaty girls. I so like what I’m seeing. LOL.

One last thing that I find this series good would be the sound and OST’s. The OP and ED are so MY JAM. Both are so catchy, I don’t get bored listening to them. The overall sound throughout the series were really consistent too. These factors definitely added a lot of color and flavor to the series.

Overall, this anime is a must watch. I really had fun watching this anime, and it doesn’t disappoint. Definitely a hidden gem.

I do recommend this to people who likes to watch sports anime, and to people who likes cute girls doing sports.

Anyway, that is all.
Thanks for reading!!

PS: Agari is best girl for me <3 <3
