Seitokai Yakuindomo Season 2!!!

If you haven’t checked out yet, I made my reviews on the first season and its OVA’s weeks ago so check them out. I pretty much expressed my deep thoughts on those series and definitely, my expectation to this 2nd season died down. I mean, rather than expecting it to be better, I expected it to be like the 1st season.

But damn, I was wrong.

This season was alot funnier than its predecessors.

They say that the more things change, the more they stay the same, and those words could not be more true for the student council of Ousai Private Academy. Though an entire year has passed—bringing the senior members to their final year of high school—not much has changed. President Shino Amakusa is just as perverted as ever, Secretary Aria Shichijou still refuses to put on a pair of panties, Treasurer Suzu Hagimura has yet to grow an inch, and Vice President Takatoshi Tsuda is still stuck as the straight man to their crazy antics.

Of course, limiting the fun to a four-way might get a little stale; although the group still messes around with the Judo Club and the Newspaper Club, more girls have come to get in on the excitement. Takatoshi’s sister Kotomi, a new student at Ousai, is as perverse as the president, while Uomi, the aloof student council president of the nearby Eiryou High School, fits right in with the insanity at Ousai. With loads of absurdity and sexual humor that keeps on coming, Takatoshi needs to harden up if he is going to keep up with all the madness around him.

When I say its funnier, it was really really REALLY FUNNY.

From its story structure to the jokes to the animation, everything was a level level higher than the first season. I dunno if I felt this way because I lowered my expectation or something, but I think the production team behind this anime realized some of their mistakes in the previous season and tried to fix them and delivered this amazing new season.

Uuuugggghhhh….so good.

First up, the story.

Like I said above, the story was just a continuation of the first season. It still had almost the same flow as the first season, but more hilarious. I feel like they chose the best and funny moments of the source material, the manga, and put them all together in this season while maintaining the continuity of the narrative.

But damn, that twist at the end, I didn’t see that coming.

Well, I can’t really tell you what was the twist as that would be a spoiler but bruh, I am telling you, it was a good shock. I didn’t expect it at all. I mean, the moment they revealed the twist, it was then I realized that the clues were already there, it was just me who didn’t notice or I noticed it but I just let it go. LOL. Nice one!

Of course, I would never forget to express my fondness with its jokes within this series. It’s on another level, bruh. The jokes were a lot bolder and in your face while maintaining that right comedic timing. Still, it wasn’t offensive or anything, it’s just funnier than ever before. I couldn’t even count how many times I paused the series so that I could explode my laughter because of its absurd jokes. It’s that good.

Now, for the characters.

Like the first season, the characters continue to be likable. I also see the continuity of the OVA’s to this season. Like what I mentioned in my previous reviews, the romance part didn’t really bloom much, until the OVA’s happened. I saw the potential in the first season, yes, but I didn’t expect the girls to express more their interest to the sole flower boy and its alot stronger here in the 2nd season. I think because I’m warmed up with the harem thing, I pretty much accept it in this season.

Lastly, for the art and animation, such an improvement.

On my 1st season review, I literally was full of praise with its amazing art and animation. And in this 2nd season, it was alot better. The character designs were still the same, but its level of animation was alot more consistent. They adapted the 3D animation and use it well, and I like that. The color scheme was alot more on the extreme compared to the first season, but it’s not painful in the eyes. It’s almost similar to the K series, but tamer. Love it.

Overall, Seitokai Yakuindomo 2nd Season was amazing! I didn’t expect it would be alot better than its predecessor, but it is. This definitely make me want to watch and look forward to its 2nd season’s OVA’s and the movie.

That is all for now.
