Seitokai Yakuindomo Anime Review

Another rewatched on my part.

I had seen Seitokai Yakuindomo years ago, but I never got the chance to watch the 2nd season of it. To be able to finish everything, I rewatched this masterpiece. Lel.

Seitokai Yakuindomo is quite a precious anime to me as this was the first anime my guy bestie recommended to me around the time I went back to the anime world from depression. This anime definitely gave alot of happiness to me, even now that I have seen it again.

Synopsis: On his first day of high school at the formerly all-girl’s Ousai Private Academy, Takatoshi Tsuda is called out for his untidy uniform by the student council president Shino Amakusa. In apology for delaying Takatoshi for his first class—and stating that the group needs a male point of view to accommodate the arrival of boys at the school—Shino offers him the position of vice president of the student council. Though unwilling, Takatoshi finds himself appointed as the newest member of the student council having yet to even step foot inside the school building.

Takatoshi soon realizes that the other student council members who are more than a little strange: President Shino, who is studious and serious in appearance, but actually a huge pervert, fascinated with the erotic and constantly making lewd jokes; the secretary Aria Shichijou, who may seem like a typical sheltered rich girl, but is just as risque as the president, if not more so; and finally, the treasurer Suzu Hagimura, who may act fairly normal, but has the body of an elementary school student and is extremely self-conscious of it. Surrounded by these colorful characters, the new vice president must now work through a nonstop assault of sexual humor and insanity. (MAL)

Seitokai Yakuindomo is a messed up comedy anime that I missed greatly. The jokes and comedic timing of this anime was quite refreshing when I first watched it years ago. I mean, these kinds of jokes are my jam as I am a pervert and I had seen alot of western dirty movies, but at that time, I wasn’t exposed yet to heavy ecchi animes like this one. That’s why I enjoyed the hell out of this.

The story is quite understandable. From the synopsis above, it follows the typical highschool Slice of life setting. It progressed well and similar to other animes in the same genre. And if you look at the list of cast, they are consist of one male and alot of females… *ehem* harem *ehem*….but its not. Hah, this anime is far from that as most of the characters are not interested with the male protagonist. They are mostly had their eyes on….other stuff. In other words, the girls in this series are full of weirdos, but my type of weirdos.

As we are already talking about the characters, I’ll elaborate more. Like I said above, they are weird af, but my type of weird. Like if they are real peepz, they are definitely my friends by now. Lol. Most of the female characters in this anime like to talk dirty and pervert stuff. I dunno if them talking openly was because their school used to be only for girls. I never went to that kind of school, but I had heard interesting stories about bring a student in that kind of set-up. Anyway, the male protagonist is the newbie in the school so in some ways, he’s the eyes and representation of us, viewers. His reactions to all of the b*llsh*t happening in the series always give me a chuckle. He’s precious too, personality-wise.

For the art & animation, I was mindblown by it when I first watched it. I mean, the opening sequence was really really good. I was speechless. On my 2nd watching, it was still amazing, yes, but I had seen better. I do like how consistent its art was unlike the very end.

Overall, rewatching this anime was a blast. It gave me alot of good vibes and feels that sometimes new animes tend to fall short.

Definitely a recommendation to people who likes dirty comedy.

Now, that I finished this one, I can now move on to the next season.

That is all.

Thanks for reading.
