Saint☆Young Men Anime Movie Review
Ooohoohohohoh!! I was able to find time and watch this before this year ends. I had already seen the OVA and even reviewed it here on my blog. Check it out if you have time.
I really enjoyed the 2 part OVA of Saint☆Young Men, so I had quite ‘high’ expectations that this movie would be a better version of the OVAs.
Here is my review:

Synopsis: What if Jesus and Buddha were living on Earth in modern times? What if they shared an apartment in Japan? Saint Young Men is a humorous manga about the daily lives of Jesus and Buddha, with each chapter focusing on some element of modern life, such as Disneyland, rush hour on the train, Christmas, the public pool, carnivals, and more. At last!!! I was able to watch this. XD
Saint☆Young Men Movie was definitely a better version of the OVA. Not only the quality, but the comedy was really on point. I even face palm on some of the jokes. I am a Christian myself and I know quite alot about Buddhism, so this movie was really fun to watch. The jokes were on point, even the timing of the jokes were really done well. Though, I still do notice some slow and stagnant moments, but they not many. Everything was done well.
Its quite clear that the Saint☆Young Men Movie, got the right budget. The studio really went all out in improving the animation from the OVA. The improved animation can’t be sen directly, the improvement was subtle but it sure added alot of flavor to the movie.
Seeing Jesus and Buddha enjoying alot in the human world was really fun to watch. Their amazement to the mundane stuff and to the Japanese culture was so cute. I cracked really hard whenever they get their fortunes in the shrine, and the christmas segment. It was hilarious. It would have better if they added the angels and the monks into the mix more like what they did in the OVA. I think it would made the Movie even more wilder and funnier to watch. But overall, all is good. I love the movie as it is.
Overall, this movie is a must watch. It’s okay if you haven’t seen the OVAs, but I still do recommend to watch them before this movie. Its worthwhile.
Watching this movie before this year ends definitely was one of the best decision I made this year.
Thanks for reading.
I hope too. :3
