After Thoughts:

A harem anime. A romance harem anime. A romance harem anime with a canon pairing. Sweet!

Princess Lover! anime was a surprise. I didn’t expect that I would enjoy it. It had both a generic and unique feel to it. Generic cuz its a freakin’ romance harem anime, all the girls later on falls for the MC even though their attraction was kinda given. Another thing was the presence of the anime character archetypes. Can’t blame it, its an old anime. But for an old anime, it does looks stunning.

Now, for the story. Thee premise was simple, to a point it felt like it came out from a fanfic or something. But at least, it was just the premise. The events after the first episode were really interesting. With a generic plot, you kinda predicted what was going to end, but I got a different one. I mean, for a romance harem series, there was actually a canon pairing. Yay! I was always rooting for them to be together, so I was happy to see their relationship develop. I also like the pacing of the story. Its not fast, its also not slow. Everything was laid out well, though I did want more explanation on some stuff but nah, its irrelevant.

Like I said above, some of the characters follow certain anime character archetypes. I don’t have any problem with it as long as it was done well, cool that this series did it really well. All the characters were really likeable. You really can’t hate them. Each of the girls in the harem deserves to be best girl. I’m kinda bummed cuz of the little to no development on some characters, especially Yuu. Though it can’t be helped, I just wished she got enough spotlight as to the other girls. I mean, its a given that she would definitely fall for Teppei, but I couldn’t see any moments were she could develop feelings for him.

I think my only problem with the characters from this series was the villain. His reasoning (to be a villain) was really meh, I couldn’t sympathise to him. I also don’t like the fact that the info about the MC’s parents was handled that way. I mean, they should at least shed more light to it. Anyways, don’t want to leave any spoilers, so lets proceed.

The art and animation were very appealing in the eyes. It was totally different with the current art and animation but it also had this modern vibe to it. I also find the art style very familiar. At first, it reminded me of Shugo Chara, dunno why. But after watching it more and more, the character design (especially the eyes) was really familiar, like I had seen those eyes before. I went and checked it on the MAL, bruh, the series was made by studio GoHands, the one who made the K series and the infamous, Handshakers. No wonder, the eyes, amazing.

I also wanted to point out the ‘quality’ of the ‘ecchiness’ of this series. I must say, seeing this series in BD (so its uncensored), was pleasing in the eyes. The fan service shots were not too much, and all of them fell kinda natural. I also find it funny that the MC, Teppei, admitted to be a pervert. Every time there was a fan service, his eyes always looks at the prize. He even got a boner a couple of times. Hahahahhaah.

Overall, this series was really enjoyable and fun. Theres no boring episode, definitely a good anime. If you are a fan of romance ecchi harem animes, this anime is perfect for you. I won’t say its a must watch, but its worth a try.

Well, thats it for now.

Thanks for reading!
