Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Movie – The Girl Who Summons The Stars: Quick Thoughts

Reading Time: 2 minutes

It’s been awhile since I had seen any Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei anime, so I barely remember anything about the story except the part where the sister is so into her brother. That’s all. I did try to refresh my memories of it by watching some random videos on Youtube.

Anyway, the movie was released last year. It came as a surprise, after all, the anime series aired few years ago. Dunno what’s going on with the anime productions lately, they sure like to revive alot of semi-old animes. I’m not complaining, DO IT MORE!

This movie is not really good, its not like the anime itself is good to begin with.

Watching this movie was dreadful. I had been watching anime movies this past weeks and this is the first time (in a while) I actually dislike what I’m watching. The pacing was  really bad and the story was dragged too long. Some important details were left in the air too and not explained. The climax didn’t felt like one, too. Sigh, the movie was indeed a waste of time.

I think the consoling parts of all of this would be the magic powers of the casts and president, Mayumi Saegusa. Mayumi had always been my favorite of the series. She’s also powerful. So seeing her at least for a few minutes in this movie made everything bearable.

For the magic powers, I’m always been a sucker of it so seeing it again made me abit happy.

Overall, this movie is as bad as the series. I think everyone who watched the anime series knows how bad the pacing was. Good news, the movie is like that too. I may sound really negative right now, but who won’t be. This anime is such a waste of potential. I was expecting it to redeem itself from the series counterpart but what I got is the opposite. Sigh.

Anyway, would I recommend this movie? Not really, I think only to the people who liked the series, I guess.

That is all.

Thanks for reading.
