During the Christmas break, I got a chance to watch some movies with different genres. Among those were the Little With Academia movies. Both movies blew my mind. I mean, I knew how amazing this anime was because of its reception when this movies were released and especially the hype when the anime series aired. But I didn’t expect I would like it too.
It reminded me of the time when I was kid, enjoying alot of Disney and children movies and series. It had the same feel and enjoyment. I didn’t expect I needed this kind of feel-good anime movies.

Both these movies follows Akko, Lotte and Sucy, in their misadventures as students in an academy of witches.
In the first movie, we were basically introduced to the main cast and the main narrative of the anime. We immediately got sucked into their magical world. Akko, the main character, got enthralled after seeing a magic show, wanted to be a witch, but doesn’t have what it takes to be one. Then in the 2nd movie, the gang continues with their misadventures, now faces expulsion. To reverse it, they need to make the upcoming festival a success.
With these simple premises, you might think these movies are for kids to watch as they exhibit the same formula as the Disney movies we had seen in our childhood. And yeah, it is like that, but there is more to it. It’s lighthearted nature heals. It made us remember why we like anime in the first place. I mean, all of us nowadays are experiencing alot of struggles in our daily lives. Seeing these kinds of movies helps ease and cheers us up from all the negative stuff in our lives.
With the quirky and upbeat characters and on-point cartoony art and animation, it added a lot of impact to my enjoyment while watching. It made me want to see more of it. I might check out the anime series in the future, but for now, I’m going to settle with these movies.
Anyway, I think that’s all I want to share.
Thanks for reading!
