Yo!!! Hello everyone.

This review had been pending and been staying on my drafts for quite a while now. To be honest, I really have no plan on posting this. But after watching it for the second time, its quite impossible for me not to share my feels around this anime.

Without further a do, here is my review.

This girl, Karen Tendou, is an exemplary student who is proclaimed to be the school’s idol. She discovers that Amano is a gamer, and this newfound knowledge incites a passionate desire within her to recruit him into the game club. Upon visiting the club, Amano is forcefully made aware of a side to gaming wildly different than the one he loves so dearly.

Tendou’s interest in Amano begins shaking up what was once an uneventful life, filling it with spontaneity, awkwardness, and a little bit of mayhem. As a result, every day becomes a comical battle for Amano’s sanity as he tries to adapt to these wild, unexpected changes. (MAL)

My Thoughts:

*clap* *clap* *clap*

This anime is hilarious. No, its beyond hilarious. One of the best anime released last summer. I don’t think I can write off here how much I enjoyed watching this show weekly in sub last summer, then binge-watching it recently in dub. It’s so good, so good.

The story starts off as generic as it could ever be. It follows the usual formula of any high school Slice-of-life romance comedy anime you could ever see. I think the thing that separates it from the norm, was how the story was executed and how it was presented/told. I think I already mentioned it in my first impressions post, but I’m going to point it out here anyway.

This is an example.

Those random text, appears out of nowhere, giving hints to the viewers what going to come. At first, you find it unique and odd that they do that, but when the actual scenario happens, oh damn, its really really funny. XD

One of the strong factor of this series would the characters and how fleshed out they are. You can clearly see through out the series their growth as a character. Each character starts off as your typical light novel anime characters, following the basi tropes in a highschool romance comedy anime. But these characters later on exposed there inner personalities which made them more human and not just a 2D character. It made us, viewers, relate to them more. Its really fun to watch how over-the-top but relatable their emotions and expressions, to a point that you can screenshot it and make a meme out of it. Their expressions were totally god-level animation. Hahahahha. See for yourself.

Bruh, just by looking at those pics, its quite clear how hilarious this series is.

Of course, let us congratulate the studio, Pine Jam, in creating such awesome meme worthy anime expressions. The art and animation was so modern and new, but it also had a nostalgic feel to it. Yeah, if you look at it on surface level, the character design & animation were generic, but again, its all about how the studio execute it. And bruh, Pine Jam executed it really really well. Thank you very much, Pine Jam!

Misunderstandings. It is the core of this anime. Its because of the misunderstandings that made this series more hilarious and really enjoyable to watch. What I like about this plot device, was the fact that they were not exaggerations. Those scenarios could really happen in real life. That factor right there makes the series more engaging. It made the viewers go “WTF!” again and again. Though, it was kinda over saturated in the long run. The more the misunderstandings happened, the more you want them to clear the air around the main characters. But knowing the norm traits of the Japanese people, confronting others and sharing their feelings all out are definitely not their cup of tea.

Overall, this anime is A MUST WATCH. I enjoyed the hell out of this anime. I even rewatched this the second time. Both the subs and the english dub are really good, so you can enjoy the series either way.

Thanks for reading.

That is all.
