Spread the love

Okay, I was planning on making a “positive” post today as it has been quite stressful and full of hustle these past 2 days because of my work from home.

However, I just can’t not say how much I don’t like this anime.

Sorry.

It’s not my jam.

I will try to post something positive next blog.

Follow the adventures and exploits of S.A.M, a high-end, royal-class friendship droid who’s joined by a quirky, discarded maintenance robot and a brash, deadly fugitive. Together, the unlikely trio embarks on an unforgettable journey in a fantastic and dangerous world in search of S.A.M’s best friend, the heir to a powerful kingdom under siege. (MAL)

Like I said in the title, I dropped Canon Busters.

Why? You ask.

Simple answer.

It’s a waste of time on my part as I didn’t enjoy even a single bit of it.

Oh man, I sound so harsh but it’s the truth.

If you guys read the synopsis, it’s clear from the start that this series might be bland as the premise is not interesting. However, I still gave it a chance, because it might be a hidden gem or something. But Uuugghhhh…it didn’t even live up to any of my expectations of it. And believe me, those expectations were really low already.

I was only able to see 4 episodes of the anime, barely reaching the mid part of series, and I kind of tell already that the story is so slow and it’s going nowhere. I know, maybe I’m assuming too much, but bruh, my time is quite precious.

Nothing significant happened in the 1st quarter of the series, other than the badly implemented past scenes. I mean, really, electrocuting the robot causes her to be triggered and made her remember the past and show clips of happenings where she’s not even involved with? That’s pushing too far, the writer should have written this better.

Speaking of the writer, along with the production team and animation studio, it’s clear that they put a lot of effort into this series. But with nice art and animation and unique character designs, if the story fails, the anime fails. Yes, there might be some animes out there that had an epic fail stories but have really really good art & animation. They were in some ways, interesting and enjoyable to watch. Definitely, this anime is not one of them.

Yes, I’m a nitpicker. I can’t help it.

Other than the badly written story, the last straw was the characters. Not only they fall into stereotypes, but all of them are also uninteresting.

Oh man, I never knew I would actually watch a series where all of the characters are so bland. I mean, it’s been a while. Hahhahaha.

Sam, the robot, was really annoying from the start. I was expecting myself to maybe give her a break and maybe like her later on, but that never happened. She was annoying, dumb, shallow, and of no purpose until the very end. Yes, she is OP, but she only activates it in the most convenient timing and her interactions with the other characters are soooo boring and bland. Sigh. She’s supposed to be the main character here along with that immortal fugitive and robot mechanic.

About the immortal fugitive, he’s a missed chance. Out of the 3, he has the most personality, however, with no people to bounce off with, his personality doesn’t really shine bright. I saw a bit of glimpse of this when interacting with the bounty hunters, but it left me feeling of wanting to see more sides of him. I don’t want to put him on a category, but his too stereotypical. It’s a waste.

Lastly, the mechanic robot…he’s…not even interesting.

I think the only silver lining of this anime would be its art and animation. Yes, at first look, it’s clearly a western cartoon. However, it had been labeled as anime on Netflix, so this series is an anime.

I actually liked the series’ art and animation. It’s not bad, actually, as the lame story fits quite well with its art and animation. I dunno why, but I can only see this anime with this kind of art and animation.

I can clearly see the inspiration behind the character designs, specifically, the old classics like Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and other dystopian animes in the past. I like it.

Now we go back to the negative points. I’m not feeling the opening song of the anime. However, I kinda dig some of the tracks of the OST, but overall, it lacks impact to save the series.

In conclusion, Canon Busters anime is a waste of time on my part. Sorry if I sound harsh, but its the truth. I don’t like it.

Would I recommend it to other people, not really? But if other people are interested then go. Watch it.

Yo! Sirius here.

It’s been awhile since I wrote a negative review.

Lel.

I usually power through a series, but I just can’t do it with this series. Maybe, it would be better in the next couple of episodes, but I don’t think I have time for it anymore.

So I’m just going to stop now.

That would be all for now.

Like I said above, I will be posting something positive on my next post, to cleanse the negativity of this entry. LOL.

Hahahahahha.

This has been Will Sirius and thanks for reading my rant.
